Peace Chant attracted a final bid of $900,000 as a KEESEP yearling and trained for his debut like a horse with a future. The dark bay prepped for his start with a six-furlong move in 1:12 1/5 Nov. 18, came back five days later to go three-eighths in :35 3/5 and had his final trial five days after that, cruising through five furlongs in 1:01 flat. Sent off the lukewarm 4-1 choice, he pressed the pace, put a head in front in the stretch, then drew away to win by a handy 3 1/4 lengths. Diamond Sucker (Siphon {Brz}) completed the exacta.
