After Market is the first foal from Tranquility Lake--a multiple Grade I winner on turf and a graded stakes winner on the main track--whose second foal, a Storm Cat colt, sold for a record $9.7 million at Keeneland September. Despite a steady work tab on display, the dark bay was dismissed at 9-1 for his debut, and tucked  into a ground-saving seventh as Maroon (Menifee) led the way. Turning for home, jockey Cornelio Velasquez sent his mount up the rail and the colt responded to earn a 3/4-length decision over 2-1 Ivanovsky (Saint Ballado), with 8-5 Devil’s Preacher (Pulpit) a head further back in third. The winner’s dam is a half sister to multiple graded stakes winner Benchmark (Alydar) and is from the immediate family of GI Belmont S. winner Caveat (Cannonade).
