The first foal out of Marley Vale, who won the 1999 GI Test S. at the Spa wearing Laura and Eugene Melnyk’s blue and yellow colors, Indian Vale debuted at Monmouth with a rallying victory July 2. Given a 4-1 chance to get it done stepping up in class and stretching to a route, the Todd Pletcher trainee clicked off sensible :24.01 and :48.74 splits, then left the field toiling in her wake as she bounded clear to an eye-catching 13-length victory. Flaming Heart (Touch Gold) edged out favored Disturbing (Dynaformer) for second. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $51,000.
