Originally entered in York’s Aug. 17 G2 Gimcrack S. until taken out at the latest stage, Araafa was allowed to start at a generous 16-1 and ran greenly in behind the leaders throughout the early stages. Getting the message when switched out inside the final quarter, he was all over the 1-2 pick Kilworth (Ire) (Kalanisi {Ire}) in the final 150 yards and needed only hand riding to score by a cozy neck. Araafa, who becomes the 14th winner for her freshman sire (by Danzig), was a 48,000gns TATDEC weanling and a 150,000gns TATOCT yearling. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, £4,157.
