  Churchill Downs, Race 5, Mdn, 41,185, 3yo/up, 7f, 1:23 4/5, ft

Pulpit Exchange, C, 3, by Pulpit

1st Dam: Silent Greeting (GSW, $215,303), by Secret Halo
2nd Dam: Speak Straight, by In Reality
3rd Dam: Narrator Type, by Shecky Greene

Pulpit Exchange was bet down to 5-2 odds for his career bow going 6 1/2 furlongs in the local slop May 14 and ran well to be a clear second. Hammered down to 1-2 to get the job done this time around, the Virginia-bred colt tracked the pace four wide, came a bit deeper into the stretch and finished with good energy to win by a widening 5 1/4 lengths over first-time starter Buddy Got Even (Stephen Got Even). The winner, a $200,000 KEESEP yearling, became a $625,000 FTFFEB two-year-old purchase. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $31,160.
