Winner lived up to her name with an impressive first-out effort. The dark bay filly is out of a daughter of the remarkable Personal Ensign, herself the dam of Grade I winners Miner’s Mark, My Flag and Traditionally and graddam of champion Storm Flag Flying. Sent off the 9-5 second choice in her career opener, she rated off fast fractions, swept past the leaders at the top of the lane and was under a hand ride as she galloped away to a 7 3/4-length triumph over New Dimension (Golden Missile). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $25,800.
