  LEOPARDSTOWN, Race 6, Mdn, 19,280, 2yo, 6fT, 1:14.40, gd/fm

Ivan Denisovich (Ire), C, 2, by Danehill

1st Dam: Hollywood Wildcat (Ch. 3yo Filly, MGISW, $1,432,160), by Kris S.
2nd Dam: Miss Wildcatter, by Mr. Prospector
3rd Dam: Elizabeth K., by Third Martini

Ivan Denisovich was sent off at 8-11 to make a winning debut at Newbury May 14, but found To Sender (GB) too strong in what may turn out to be a hot maiden. Sent off the 1-4 pick here, he was quickest away under Kieren Fallon before settling in third off the generous early fractions. Making his move at the top of the straight, he settled the result in a matter of strides, taking command passing the quarter pole before stretching out for an impressive 4 1/2-length success from Andramad (Ire) (Fasliyev). "He has come into the reckoning for Royal Ascot now," trainer Aidan O’Brien told Irish-Racing.com. "He had a lovely introduction at Newbury and he should step forward again from here." Ivan Denisovich is a three-parts brother to War Chant (Danzig), GISW, $1,130,600; and a half to Ministers Wild Cat (Deputy Minister), MSW & MGSP, $317,677; and Double Cat (Storm Cat), SW & GSP, $153,247. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, Eu15,379.
