Seize the Day, a $115,000 OBSMAR two-year-old, worked forwardly toward his debut, including a best-of- 16 six-furlong breeze in 1:11 3/5 over this course Sept. 26, and was duly sent off the hot 4-5 pick. The handsome dark bay was hustled out by Victor Espinonza to click off a quick first quarter in :21 4/5, but settled into a nice stride rounding the turn, getting to the half in :45 flat. Lengthening clear of the field under a modest hand ride from there, he was under wraps late while coming home an eye-catching 11-length winner. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $23,400.
