Previously trained by Michel Mace, Grace Lady had a steadily-progressive profile last term and was second on her black-type debut in this venue’s Listed Prix Coronation in September. Third in the Listed Prix Casimir Delamarre over another furlong the following month, the bay returned for the little-known Tatiana Puitg stable to annexe the Listed Prix Jacques Laffitte also over nine furlongs at Maisons-Laffitte Apr. 4 and had run into traffic when just over three lengths ninth in the G3 Prix Allez France over 10 furlongs at Chantilly last time Apr. 29. Settled in rear early by Gerald Mosse, she was the most animated to emerge from the bunch as the field fanned across the track at the top of the stretch. Striking the front approaching the furlong pole, she drew away from the blanket in behind, from which Fate emerged as her closer pursuant. "Last time in the Allez France, she was quite unlucky and would have finished in the frame with a clear run," the owners’ Racing Manager Laurent Benoit said. "She loves very soft ground and that really helped today. Now, there is not much left in France in the program so we will have to wait and see where we go next."

Spotting her foes two or three lengths, the lanky grey rushed up into contention before practically blowing the turn with her head cocked to the inside. Putting it all together in the lane, Teardrop leveled off nicely and showed off her giant stride to romp home a no-doubt-about-it 3 3/4-length winner. Wesley Ward firster She’s Coal Fired (Brother Derek) was second. According to Trakus data, Teardrop covered 40 feet more than the runner-up, which equates to approximately 4 3/4 additonal lengths. | Sheikh Mohammed Orders Steroids Ban in UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has ordered the drafting of a decree rendering the import, sale, purchase and use of anabolic steroids in all horse-related sports in the United Arab Emirates a criminal offence. The decree is to have immediate effect. In a statement issued by godolphin.com, Sheikh Mohammed said, "I have always believed in the integrity of horse racing and all other horse sports. I have, in light of the unfortunate recent event, directed that a decree be issued making, with immediate effect, the import, sale, purchase or use of anabolic steroids in horse sports a criminal offence under the UAE penal laws. Regrettably, one of my stables in Europe has recently fallen below the standards that I expect and will tolerate. As soon as the internal investigations are complete and the requisite preemptory rules are put in place, Godolphin will go from strength to strength and lead, once again, adherence to the highest standards in that gracious sport."

| TOC Joins Uniform Medication Program The Thoroughbred Owners of California recently announced it will implement the Mid Atlantic Uniform Medication Program, effective Jan. 1, 2014. The TOC joins eight other states in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast: Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. The program includes a two-category drug classification system--controlled therapeutic medications and prohibited substances. Lasix will be the sole medication permitted on race day. All accredited by the RMTC Code of Standards for Drug Testing, the testing laboratories for each of the participating states will employ the same technology and detection levels. "We look forward to working through the process with the CHRB and horsemen to begin this program on Jan. 1," said TOC President Joe Morris. "It is vitally important to help bring together a national effort and uniformity when it comes to medication." Added Dr. Mark Dedomenico, TOC Medication Chair, Implementing the mid-Atlantic Uniform Medication Program was an easy decision for the TOC since their regulations pratically mirror what we’ve been doing for the past year."
