A new study by Dr Joe Pagan and colleagues that is to be presented at the upcoming Equine Symposium in New Mexico shows that Salix enhances performance independent of alleviating EIPH. The summary of the findings were that Salix (also known as Lasix and Furosemide), essentially acts as a lactate buffer (which is why the TCO2 levels for testing are higher on horses that use lasix than those that do more...
