Rahy Pensioned at Three Chimneys Updated: 10:00 AM ET (First posted: 7:34 AM ET)
Officials at Robert Clay's Three Chimneys Farm have announced that Rahy (Blushing Groom {Fr}--Glorious Song, by Halo), the sire of 82 black-type winners including Fantastic Light, Dreaming of Anna and Noverre, has been pensioned from stud duties due to declining fertility. Racing for Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid al Maktoum and trained in Europe by Sir Michael Stoute, where he was second in the Group 1 Middle Park S. at two. He came to the U.S. in 1988 and posted a 10-length victory in the GII Bel Air H. at four the following year. "Rahy is one of the most important stallions we've had," said Case Clay, President of Three Chimneys. "Not only was standing him a great opportunity for Three Chimneys, but it allowed us to begin a very enjoyable and successful partnership with the Maktoum family. While it's too bad Rahy won't have anymore crops going forward, we're excited to have his son Lewis Michael here to carry on his legacy." Rahy will remain at Three Chimneys throughout his retirement. | Sharp Debut for Holy Bull Juvenile at Belmont Updated: 5:32 PM ET (First posted: 3:24 PM ET)

The iron grey colt showed a host of good works over at Big A and wound up going postward as the 9-2 third choice. After breaking alertly, the colt conceded the lead heading into the turn and settled in fourth. Jockey Alan Garcia had a ton of horse beneath him approaching the stretch, but was faced with a wall of horses in front. He guided Bulls and Bears through a seam and angled to the rail, where his mount kicked into gear and finished up determinedly to deny favored Discreetly Mine (Mineshaft)--a half-brother to GISW Discreet Cat (Forestry)--by a neck. It was 3 3/4 lengths back to second choice Gantry (Pulpit). Click for the brisnet.com chart. Video, sponsored by Taylor Made. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $25,800. The chestnut flashed speed in each of her first two outings, a debut third on the Keeneland Poly Apr. 22, and a fade to sixth in a seven-furlong test over this course May 17. Bet down to even-money while cutting back to six panels, More to the Story jumped out quickly from her rail post, turned back a challenge from Out Post (Silver Deputy) after a half in :44.75 and levelled out nicely to defeat that filly by 2 1/4 lengths. LAURA'S PLEASURE (f, 2, Cactus Ridge--Doubleyourpleasure {SP, $135,197}, by Double Negative) displayed early dash in her local May 31 opener for trainer Ral Ayers, but tired to finish fifth, beaten seven lengths by "TDN Rising Star" Necessary Evil (Harlan's Holiday). Well-supported here at 3-1, the dark bay dueled through a :21.91 opening quarter, but that was as close as it got. Laura's Pleasure turned on the afterburners entering the lane and opened up to graduate by 7 1/2 lengths. A $20,000 KEESEP yearling, she is a half-sister to Sea of Pleasure (Sea of Secrets), SW, $133,781. Sal the Barber overcame a bit of traffic to score by a neck at 13-1 on debut over the Gulfstream turf course Mar. 7 and followed that effort with a solid third in a Keeneland allowance test rained onto the Polytrack Apr. 19. Returned to the green stuff for the Lamplighter S. at Monmouth May 25, the homebred rallied from midpack to complete the triple, just a nose behind Tamborim for second money. Lightly regarded here behind TDN Rising Star Pinckney Hill, Sal the Barber cut out fractions of :49.84 and 1:14.32, shook loose turning for home and covered his final three-eighths in :34.82 to post an easy victory. 4th-BEL, $43,000, Msw, 2yo, f, 5 1/2f, 1:05 3/5, ft. THAT'S HOW I ROLL (f, 2, Speightstown--Chatter Chatter {MSW, $393,940}, by Lost Soldier) took plenty of action in her May 21 debut against males at Belmont, but could do no better than third behind her fellow filly Franny Freud (Freud). The form of that maiden was validated when the winner came back to be a good second in Woodbine's My Dear S. last weekend, but That's How I Roll was let go at 6-1 as the lone member of this field with prior experience. Settled just off the pace, the Maryland-bred came calling three abreast at the quarter pole and drove past pacesetting Stormandaprayer (Songandaprayer) to score by three lengths. A late run from Magic Appeal (Successful Appeal) relegated Stormandaprayer to third. More Amour (Exchange Rate) was fifth. The winner, a $160,000 KEESEP, was resold for $235,000 as a FTFFEB juvenile. O-Vision Racing LLC. B-Dark Hollow Farm, George Harris & Will DeBurgh (MD). T-Kiaran P McLaughlin. | Borel Taken Off Mine That Bird Updated: 1:04 PM ET (First posted: 12:44 PM ET)
Jockey Calvin Borel will not be aboard GI Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird (Birdstone) for the Aug. 1 West Virginia Derby at Mountaineer Park, reports Daily Racing Form. According to co-owner Mark Allen, the decision was made to replace the rider after reports came in that agent Jerry Hissam and Borel were contemplating taking a mount on Warrior's Reward (Medaglia d'Oro) in the same day's GII Jim Dandy S. Borel had previously also opted off the bay when he chose to ride Rachel Alexandra (Medaglia d'Oro) in the May 16 GI Preakness S. A replacement has not been named to ride the three-year-old, however, connections indicated that they would require a firm commitment for the rest of the year from the new rider. Also, Borel, who worked the gelding at Churchill Downs last Monday, will not be aboard for the Derby winner's subsequent works. Following the West Virginia Derby, Mine That Bird is scheduled to run in the GI Shadwell Travers S. Aug. 29 and likely one more race before the Breeders' Cup Classic Nov. 7. Mine That Bird, who was initially scheduled to ship to Mountaineer the week of July 17, may remain at trainer Chip Woolley's Churchill Downs base a little longer before shipping east. | First Black-Type Winner for Le Vie dei Colori Updated: 4:21 PM ET (First posted: 4:19 PM ET)

Sluggish from the gates, the bay was niggled to sit close to the early tempo and gained the lead as En Un Clin d'Oeil started to wander left passing the quarter pole.
