Hello, Giles. I believe Gary is a poet and uses that form to express his point of view. I asked for his help because I kept on seeing a religious of current events implication in the poem and couldn't figure out how it was related to horses.

Oh. I see he is all over the page. Is he someone well known as a poet or horse person? Why is he writing religious and current event poems on a racing site? Do you know him?

Just seems odd that there is little else on the entire TDN forum page.

Ode to Corn

Just lying quietly by the shore

Consuming lotus; give me more.

Please be the first to tell me how -

Of how it happens; then and now.

How unseen phantoms at the stead

In time will paint the axis red.

While bearded bards of Lincolns dream,

All sporting tail fins on their beam.

As headless horsemen speed their trots

Each heedless of the devil's plots.

In stealth Chin Hua looks ‘cross the seas

And loawai jumps to hand the keys,

So all that’s left erodes away.

It’s self-inflicted, some would say.

Now sing me songs of glories past

For then is now; and nothing lasts.

The half - baked fortune kookies tell

Of common truths, we all know well.

Oh, can you tipping in the stream

Please Yang me and my Yinner being?

If you are asking for comment on Gary's poetry; he is beyond me. Double entendre seems prevalent. Shin in particular is an interesting choice because of its multiple meanings and the phrase "bet the Shin". Dullahan seems present as well. My interpretation is that Gary is defining a battle between good and evil using religious and political references. Sometimes both are referenced by the same word or phrase. The thing about poetry is it means different things to different people. It is generally wasted here,however.

Re: IHA. Racetrack conversation for some time held that IHA was being kept together by a skillful use of corticosteroids, analgesics, HLA, and who knows what.
