“My favorite place is Grotto on Ashland Avenue in Chevy Chase. It’s a small place serving new American cuisine, and the guy who owns it is named Drew Howell. They serve a hen that’s really good, which I love (Pike Valley Farm organic achiote rubbed breast of hen). It’s a small, bistro-type place with a good wine list. The food is good, and it’s reasonably priced. They also have a good salad with bibb lettuce and bleu cheese. I’d recommend something else, but I always get the hen--it’s the only thing I ever eat!”
