DUBLIN HOUSE (Jersey Shore, NJ - Dining)
30 Monmouth St., Red Bank, NJ Phone: (732) 747-6699 Type: Red Bank's answer to Cheers; A TDN staff favorite
Where can you find the TDN crew when we are not slaving away over a hot keyboard? That would be right across the street at our satellite office, the Dublin House. It is Red Bank’s answer to Cheers...not only do the friendly and attentive bartenders know us by name, they often see us walking across Monmouth St. and have the shots poured before we step through the door. The Dublin House has been refurbished, upstairs and down, and there are also tables out front and an outdoor bar in back that is open, weather permitting, through the spring, summer and fall. It is the perfect spot for our TDN “editorial meetings.” The menu is ambitious for a pub, and the chef does a solid job, not only with the traditional Irish fare such as bangers and mash or shepherd’s pie, but also with the wide selection of sandwiches, entrees and specials. And, if we happen to tip the bartender on a winner, the drinks are on the house the next time we stop in.
