MONKEY HILL BAR (New Orleans, LA - Dining)
6100 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70118 Phone: (504) 899-4800 Web: www.myspace.com/monkeyhillbar Type: Great New Orleans flavor; very casual, cool vibe
This place is named after the highest point in New Orleans and the hill every kid in town has ridden his bike down. It’s located on Magazine St. It’s a very local place, with a great New Orleans flavor. If you pick the right night, you’re liable to see any number of New Orleans Saints hanging out there. There’s a very casual, cool vibe--it feels like a living room. I’ve gone in and sat down and played cards for hours. No one hassles you, and the music is always good.
