GALATOIRE'S RESTAURANT (New Orleans, LA - Dining)
209 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA 70130 Phone: (504) 525-2021 Web: www.galatoires.com Type: Best restaurant in New Orleans!
It’s the best restaurant in New Orleans, bar none. You have to wear a jacket to be seated, but if you don’t have one, they will provide a jacket for you. They have all the New Orleans favorites--seafood is their specialty--plus the bartenders know how to make a great drink, and aren’t shy when they’re pouring it. One of my favorite things to get is one of the appetizers, a little potato puff which is very light and can be dipped in bearnaise. Try the appetizer sampler that includes the shrimp remoulade and shrimp maison. If you have a good waiter, you won’t even need a menu. They’ll tell you what’s best that night and trust me, these guys make a great living and really know their stuff. Galatoire’s is three blocks off Canal on Bourbon, so it’s a two-for-one--you can dine and enjoy a great meal, then go and listen to some great music.
