The Festspielhaus, a former neoclassical train station, was reopened in 1998 in its current guise and is a modern concert house with a 2,500-seat capacity, Europe’s second-largest such venue. From Sept. 2 through Sept. 7 it plays host to George Gershwin’s operatic masterpiece Porgy and Bess. The New York Harlem Theater production, under the artistic direction
of William Barkhymer, continues its world tour which has been ongoing since the turn of the millennium. Ticket prices range from €22.80 to €59.90.
