THE CASINO BADEN-BADEN (Baden-Baden, Germany - Entertainment)
Kaiserallee 1, im Kurhaus, 76530 Baden-Baden Phone: +49 7221 30240 Web: www.casino-baden-baden.de. Type: Number one venue on any list of places to visit
Located in The Kurhaus, Baden-Baden’s major landmark, the Casino is the number one venue on any list of places to visit. Edouard Benazet, who took over the lease of the casino in 1848 and in whose honor the G3 Benazet-Rennen is staged, commissioned the large ceremonial rooms to be decorated by artists from Paris. The roulette wheels have been spinning for over 250
years and inspired Fyodor Dostoevsky’s The Gambler. The Kurhaus also plays host to Baden-Baden’s Grand Prix Ball on Sept. 6, celebrating the 150th anniversay of horseracing at the nearby Iffezheim track. Hosted by
RTL television’s Petra Neftel, it will include a champagne reception and gala dinner, prepared by renowned chef Martin Herrmann, as well as music provided by the Klaus Wagenleiter Band and the Baden-Baden Philharmonic. Tickets for this event can be obtained from www.badenbadenevents.de.
