Sofitel Broadbeach's newly opened Room 81 is a very cosmopolitan, polished cocktail bar and kitchen. "If you want the perfect surprise party, Room 81 is great," said Cox, who was the star guest at a recent surprise birthday party at the Broadbeach hotspot. Cox is also a fanof Aria. "Aria at Broadbeach is fantastic, the tempura is wonderful," he said. "It's modern and has an emphasis on regional produce." Cox is among many who bring their families to the Gold Coast. "Just hanging out at the beach--our boys are young enough we don't need to do the theme parks yet, we just put them on the beach and away they go," he said. Another Cox recommended spot to relax after the sales is Watergate Lounge Bar in the Broadbeach dining precinct.
