Longines, The Jockey Club Announce Partnership

Longines and The Jockey Club have entered into a partnership agreement which will make Longines the official partner and watch of the breed registry and title sponsor of America's Best Racing (ABR), the company's fan-development initiative, it was announced Wednesday.

The partnership adds to a growing number of agreements between Longines and equine-related sports and will feature the company's branding on The Jockey Club and ABR websites, emails and newsletters as well as content specifically designed to promote interest in the GI Breeders' Cup Turf and GI Breeders' Cup Distaff, both sponsored by Longines. That content is set to include pre- and post-race video coverage, stories, photos and promotion of the races via social media channels.

Longines currently sponsors races on four continents, including the GI Kentucky Derby and GI Kentucky Oaks, the G1 Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, the G1 Dubai World Cup, the GI Melbourne Cup, the Hong Kong International Races and the G1 Gran Premio Latinoamericano in South America. Longines is also the official timekeeper for the Triple Crown.

“Longines has built one of the most prominent brands in the world and The Jockey Club is honored to enter a partnership with such a prestigious entity,” said James L. Gagliano, president and chief operating officer of The Jockey Club.

Juan-Carlos Capelli, vice president of Longines and head of International Marketing, declared, “Being strongly committed to equestrian sports all over the world, as well as having a long-lasting passion for them for more than a century, we are proud to be associated with The Jockey Club. Horse racing perfectly illustrates elegance, which is one of our brand's key values.”
