La Cressonniere (Fr) (Le Havre {Ire}–Absolute Lady {Ire}, by Galileo {Ire}), the unbeaten winner of last year's G1 Prix de Diane and G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, has been retired from racing and will return to her birthplace at La Cauviniere, that farm's Mathieu Alex told the TDN on Saturday.

Raced in partnership by Cauviniere's Gerard Augustin-Normand and Antonio Caro with trainer Jean-Claude Rouget, La Cressonniere won four times at two including a pair of listed wins and built on that promise in her Classic season. After taking the Classic double, she was last seen winning the G2 Prix de la Nonette in August. She was retired as the result of a niggling back problem.
