It's Not All Too Soon

Thousand Guineas winner Aloisia | Bronwen Healy

Trainer David Payne has always indicated his filly All Too Soon (Aus) (All Too Hard {Aus}) is his Oaks horse, and although she is yet to contest a black-type race, here she is being thrust into Group 1 company in Saturday's Vinery Stud S. (2000m), having shown she is ready for the trip and is clearly stakes class.

Taking on the older horses last start, she chased hard from back in the field to fall short, finishing second, on what would otherwise be an unbeaten campaign.

Danzdanzdance (Aus) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) was third in the G1 New Zealand Derby against the boys, and if the drop back in trip doesn't pose any issues for her, the Donna Logan and Chris Gibbs-trained filly has the right form on the board to cause an upset.

Even though Group 1 winners Aloisia (NZ) (Azamour {Ire}) and Alizee (Aus) (Sepoy {Aus}) have both put in a few indifferent performances of late, it is hard to discount Group 1 form and the pair have the class to play their roles in the finish. While Aloisia is already a winner over 2040m, on pedigree Alizee would be a query, with one having to go back to her fourth dam Triscay (Aus) (Marscay {Aus}), a dual Oaks winner, to find a winner above 1400m, but the Godolphin-owned filly has been racing like she should appreciate the trip.

Chris Waller's Unforgotten (Aus) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) produced a well-timed run to take victory on Mar. 17 in the G2 Phar Lap S. and although she is stepping past the 1500m for the first time, her pedigree suggests she will appreciate the extra journey.

Third in the G2 Wakeful S. (2000m) in the spring, Rimraam (NZ) (Commands {Aus}) will be ready at her fourth start in of her current campaign for the Vinery, and with jockey Damien Oliver having already tasted stakes success on the filly, a very forward showing heading into the Oaks would not surprise.
