At the end of the day, hip 69, a Dynaformer half-sister to top turf horse Optimizer (English Channel) was the dearest offering during day one of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Selected Yearling Sale, ultimately going to Borges Torrealba on a final bid of $1.225 million. It has been a banner year for Brad Kelley at the races, campaigning Oxbow (Awesome Again) to a first Classic victory in the GI Preakness S. this past May in addition to a solid year at the track for the aforementioned Optimizer, who won a pair of Grade III events at the Fair Grounds over the winter and was runner-up to Horse of the Year Wise Dan in the GI Woodford Reserve Turf Classic in May. More recently he was second to Boisterous in the GI Manhattan H. at Belmont Park. Kelley, who has amassed several offspring of former Three Chimneys stallion Dynaformer over the past several years, struck gold with this daughter of Indy Pick. Her sire, A.P. Indy, ended the evening as the broodmare sire of each of the top three-selling horses, including the night's two seven-figure offerings.
