An athletic and fleet colt by Florida-based first-crop stallion Two Step Salsa (Petionville) was knocked down to trainer Mark Casse, agent for Conquest Stables LLC, for $420,000 to lead the way during Tuesday’s second day of bidding at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s April Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training in Central Florida. The son of MSP Homesteader (Pioneering) was bred by Manuel Andrade, who stands the sire at his Get Away Farm in Lowell, Florida, and sold the colt on his own account for $20,000 to Eisaman Equine at last year’s OBS August sale. Hip 483
caught the eye of many prospective buyers when he breezed his eighth of a mile in :10 flat
during last Wednesday’s under-tack show. Two Step Salsa was a dual graded winner at three in California and recorded his most valuable victory in the G2 Godolphin Mile in 2009.
