Hip 27, a colt by Malibu Moon, was purchased for $675,000 by Demi O’Byrne, sitting with Michael Tabor, early in the Barretts March 2-year-old in Training Sale. The impressive bay breezed the fastest quarter-mile of the preview in :20 4/5 (video). He is out of Fashion Cat (Forest Wildcat), a half-sister to multiple Grade I winner Peace Rules (Jules). Hip 27 was bred by AGS Thoroughbreds Ltd and consigned by Jim Chapman’s Breaking Point Farm, who purchased the colt as a yearling for $185,000 at FTKJUL.
