Camas Park Stud's hip 249, a full-sister to GI Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup winner Together (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), was the subject of an intense bidding war featuring American bloodstock agent David Ingordo, Grant Pritchard-Gordon and John Magnier, and it was the latter who landed the final blow at 1.3 million guineas (about $2,186,208) Wednesday at Tattersalls. Ingordo was the immediate underbidder. "She is a lovely filly," said Coolmore's Demi O'Byrne. "She is from a family that we know well and is quite a similar sort to Together. I had seen her at Camas Park ahead of the sale, but I thought she was the best filly here." The May 1 foal, bred in partnership by her consignor and Lynch Bages Ltd., was produced by Shadow Song (Ire) (Pennekamp), also making her a 3/4-sister to Jan Vermeer (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}), victorious in the G1 Criterium International S. in 2009.
