4th at FGXAlw/OC ($48K)  [a1 1/16m (T)]Winner: Deceptive Vision, f, 4 by A.P. Indy
DECEPTIVE VISION (f, 4, A.P. Indy--Eye of the Sphynx, by Smart Strike) had been off exactly a year since annexing a muddy optional claimer here and garnering the J "TDN Rising Star" J distinction, but easily shook off the cobwebs to win well in her turf debut. Second behind eventual GSW Coffee Clique (Medaglia d’Oro) on debut at Woodbine in December of 2012. She resurfaced to don cap and gown over an extended mile last January, and stamped herself as a potential GI Kentucky Oaks filly when doubling up Feb. 22 of 2013, but went missing after that. Backed down to 5-2 favoritism with an unassuming main-track tab, the Sam-Son homebred took up a ground-saving spot in fifth early. Pilot Shaun Bridgmohan sat patiently aboard the chalk around the turn for home, but gave Deceptive Vision her cue in the stretch and she responded willingly to draw off by 2 1/2 lengths in 1:43.38. Hot Tempo (Heatseeker {Ire}) completed the exacta. Lifetime Record: 4-3-1-0. Click for the VIDEO.
