+HARTFORD (c, 3, Tapit--Tempting Note {MSP}, by Editor's Note) proved to be another promising sophomore for trainer Todd Pletcher with an impressive debut yesterday. The $700,000 Keeneland September purchase, who was supported as the 1-2 pick off a solid Palm Meadows wortktab, broke in at the start and was away slowly. However, pilot Javier Castellano was able to hustle him up to press the leader through splits of :23.76 and :47.54. The big gray gained a narrow advantage on the bend and, when urged in the stretch, pulled away to finish 5 3/4 lengths ahead of H Town Brown (Big Brown). Hartford is a full-sibling to GI Gazelle S. winner Dance Card, $502,200; and Tempted to Tapit, GSP, $234,995. Sales history: $700,000 yrl '12 KEESEP. Click for the chart or VIDEO.
Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $24,000. O-Stonestreet Stables LLC. B-Bruce McMillin & Tapit Syndicate (KY). T-Todd A Pletcher.
