United Color stamped himself as a sprinter to watch at the Dubai World Cup Carnival with this victory. United Color started his career in Italy, and registered a career high when winning the G3 Premio Tudini at the Capannelle in May 2012. Relocated to Dubai thereafter, the bay registered a trio of on-the-board finishes in his first UAE season last year before taking out a handicap over this track-and-trip last February. He finished fifth, beaten just 1 3/4 lengths, behind Reynaldothewizard in the G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen Mar. 30, and resumed from a nine month rest with a second place finish in a Jebel Ali conditions event Dec. 27. Stalking the pace while wide down the backstretch, United Color cruised up to join the leaders at the quarter pole and held off a late charge from Russian Soul (Ire).
