Heir Kitty (f, 3, Wildcat Heir--Be Silver, by Silver Buck) overtook favored Sweet Lulu (Mr. Greeley) in deep stretch to spring a 13-1 upset of the GI La Brea S. at Santa Anita Thursday. Sweet Lulu took the lead soon after the start and set fractions of :22.67 and :45.45 , while Heir Kitty settled into a stalking fourth along the rail. Tipped out three wide at the top of the lane, the bay filly eyeballed the favorite after three-quarters in 1:09.17 and, after a brief battle, began inching clear en route to a 1 1/2-length victory. Heir Kitty, earning her first stakes victory, completed the seven furlongs in 1:21.47. Sweet Lulu was second and Executiveprivilege (First Samurai) was third. Lifetime Record: 14-4-3-1, $370,272.
