6th at AQUMsw ($70k)  [6f]Winner: Taris, f, 2 by Flatter
Commonwealth New Era Racing's Taris (f, 2, Flatter--Comedy, by Theatrical {Ire}) made her initial racetrack appearance on Long Island, not at trainer Todd Beattie's Penn National base, and was let go at odds just a dime shy of 4-1 despite having worked sensationally at the Central Pennsylvania oval. Away fairly beneath Clinton Potts, Taris fired through at the fence to take up the running from D' Kennesaw Cat (Wildcat Heir) before the field had reached the turn. While favored Worldly Charm (Malibu Moon) was forced to do it tough while three or four deep on the track, Taris readily turned back that one's bid in upper stretch and sailed home to score by double digits. Hey Kiddo (Stonesider) rallied up the fence to complete a Pennsylvania-bred exacta. The winner's final time of 1:11.24 was just 0.38 seconds slower than that recorded by Extrasexyhippzster in the Don Rickles S. earlier on the card. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $42,000. O-Commonwealth New Era Stable. B-Claiborne Farm (KY). T-Todd Beattie. Click for the brisnet.com chart or VIDEO.Click for the free brisnet.com catalogue-style pedigree.
