6th at GPXNW1X ($48k)  [1m]Winner: Coup de Grace, c, 2 by Tapit
Fox Hill Farms’s Coup de Grace (c, 2, Tapit--Home Court, by Storm Cat) remained unbeaten with a one-length victory in a one-mile Gulfstream allowance Sunday. The chestnut colt graduated as the 1-2 favorite in his six-furlong debut at Aqueduct Nov. 9 and was the 4-5 favorite in this second go. Coup de Grace broke inward and bumped rivals before being straightened and moved up to challenge for the lead while three wide. He contested the pace through fractions of :23.40 and :46.23 before taking charge after three-quarters in 1:11.22. He idled briefly before being challenged by Hy Kodiak Warrior (Kodiak Kowboy). Those two rivals exchanged bumps before Coup de Grace found his best stride and inched clear late to complete the mile in 1:36.76. Hy Kodiak Warrior was second and Gone as Wind (Smart Strike) was third.
