7th at KEEBourbon S.  [1 1/16m (AW)]Winner: Poker Player, c, 2 by Harlan's Holiday
Sunday, Keeneland
*BOURBON S., $150,000, 2yo, 1 1/16m (AWT) (off turf), 1:43 2/5, ft.
#POKER PLAYER (c, 2, Harlan’s Holiday--Revel in the Win, by Red Bullet) closed into a slow pace to graduate in a $90,000, one-mile maiden special at Kentucky Downs Sept. 14, and was an overlooked 23-1 in his stakes debut. The gray, full of energy in the paddock, saved ground off the leaders under jockey Channing Hill. He left the pine nearing the quarter pole and, switched five wide, gobbled up the Polytrack en route to a 1 3/4-length score. Bashart (War Front) edged Bon Accord (Showing Up) for place honors. The race lost its “Win and You’re In” designation for the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, but trainer Wayne Catalano said he expected connections to make the trip to California regardless. It's been a huge weekend for WinStar sires. Artie Schiller got the Grade I double care of the Alcibiades and Breeders' Futurity, while Harlan's Holiday got his own juvenile stakes double on Sunday with this horse and GIII Grey S. winner Ami's Holiday.
