   Surprisingly without a win this term and disappointing on his latest start when only fifth in the Aug. 25 G2 Grand Prix de Deauville, Cirrus des Aigles rebounded tried over a straight course here to get back on track as he gears towards the G1 Champion S. at Ascot Oct. 19. Sent off the 2-1 second favorite, the 7-year-old was taken straight to the front by Christophe Soumillon and after a tussle with Smoking Sun (Smart Strike) asserted inside the final 150 meters to score with authority by 2 1/2 lengths from Vally Jem (Fr) (Dylan Thomas {Ire}), with Smoking Sun fading into third, a head behind.
