Designer Legs crossed the wire second in this, but was awarded the victory after the stewards took down Who’s In Town (Speightstown) and jockey Joel Rosario for interference in the stretch. Making her first start for the Dallas Stewart barn, Designer Legs sat a close-up fourth as Hop the Six (Artie Schiller) pressed Who’s In Town through a blistering first quarter. As Designer Legs joined the fray three wide into the lane, the 1-4 favorite Fiftyshadesofgold (My Golden Song), with Corey Lanerie up, was crying out for room in behind. Stymied once in upper stretch, she finally was granted room as Who’s In Town drifted out at the eighth pole, but when that one shifted back in abruptly, Fiftyshadesofgold was forced to check hard and wound up crossing the line in fourth. Who’s In Town hit the wire a neck in front, but was ultimately demoted to fourth. Fiftyshadesofgold was placed third, with original third-place finisher Thank You Marylou (Birdstone) placed second.
