7th at SAR  [1m (T)]Winner: Teen Pauline, f, 3 by Tapit
7th-SAR, $87,000, Alw, 3yo/up, f/m, 1mT, 1:35 4/5, fm.
TEEN PAULINE (f, 3, Tapit--Effectual, by Carson City), third in last year’s GI Spinaway S., made a successful switch to the lawn here. The Stonestreet homebred was tabbed a TDN Rising Star after setting a new track record winning on debut at Saratoga last July, when she sped five furlongs in :56.53 for the Steve Asmussen barn. Third as the odds-on choice in the Spinaway, she went missing for nine months before returning for Todd Pletcher in a Belmont optional claimer June 5, when she ran fourth at 2-5 odds. Fourth once again in the six-furlong GIII Victory Ride S. at Belmont June 29, she was tackling two turns and grass here for the first time at 3-1 odds. The chestnut was a bit rank under John Velazquez early as she tracked in second. She moved to put a nose in front in upper stretch as Neith (Dynaformer), to her outside, drew to near even terms, but Teen Pauline turned back that challenge, opened a clear lead at the furlong grounds and held well to defeat Yes It’s Pink (Yes It’s True) by a length. Lifetime Record: 5-2-0-1. Click for the brisnet.com chart or VIDEO.
