Eight years ago, Rumplestiltskin (Ire) (Danehill) captured this race en route to completing a Group 1 double in the Moyglare Stud S. and Prix Marcel Boussac and there is every chance that her daughter Tapestry could follow suit after this taking effort. When Galileo’s progeny can win over six furlongs, it is generally a significant portent and Tapestry’s debut performance under Seamie Heffernan at this track July 21 screamed class. Joseph O’Brien, who had been on the ultimately disappointing stable first-string Snow (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) on that occasion, was keen not to make the same error again and chose the J “TDN Rising Star” J of the Ballydoyle trio bidding to provide his father with a ninth renewal. Settled in third early against the rail as Heffernan took no prisoners up front on Perhaps, she was delivered wide of that rival and Avenue Gabriel to sweep by with 200 yards remaining and win with ears pricked. “She had come forward nicely from her debut and she will have learned plenty from that,” Aidan O’Brien said. “She could go for the [Sept. 1] Moyglare, but could go a lot of ways.”
