Practically ignored on the tote despite back-to-back local romps coming into this, Dancing Afleet managed to avoid a pile up on the first turn and charged home late to secure her third straight and make the grade. A late-on-the-scene fourth sprinting at Oaklawn on debut Apr. 11, the bay went one better when stretched out behind a slow pace at Parx May 6. She aired by 7 3/4 lengths in the slop here June 13, and bested optional claiming foes by 3 3/4 lengths on a wet/fast surface over an extended mile June 24. Utilizing her early speed to take up a stalking spot just behind favored Maracuya (Big Brown) and Ile St. Molly, Dancing Afleet managed to avoid a pile-up on the first turn that Tell a Great Story got the worst of, getting hung some six or seven wide. Dancing Afleet was shuffled back to fifth as Tell a Great Story tried to make up for lost time down the backside, and she traveled in a clear fourth behind a 1:11.40 six-furlong split. Spurred on by energetic right-handers from pilot Joshua Navarro turning for home, Dancing Afleet spun wide in the lane and kept on resolutely to reel in Ile St. Molly and post the upset.
