6th at BLP  [1m (T)]Winner: Zip Up, f, 3 by Ghostzapper
6th-BEL, $75,000, Msw, 3yo/up, f/m, 1mT, 1:36 2/5, gd.
ZIP UP (f, 3, Ghostzapper--Reunited {GSW, $326,771}, by Dixie Union), a $120,000 KEESEP yearling buyback, showed promise in her debut, running a green-but-good, late-closing second in a grassy test over seven panels here May 16. At 2-1 to go one better and once again competing sans Lasix, the Farish homebred was well placed in the two path in fourth as the favorite Callana (Dynaformer), another second-time starter who was runner-up in her debut, led the way. Zip Up ranged up three wide approaching the quarter pole and hooked a game Callana shortly after, and while that one put up a fight, Zip Up began to edge away inside the final furlong and enjoyed a two-length cushion on the line. Callana just held second from a closing Egot (Dehere). Zip Up’s dam was another Will Farish homebred. Trained by Neil Howard, Reunited won five of her first seven starts, including the GIII Thoroughbred Club of America S. at Keeneland. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $59,000. Click for the chart or VIDEO.
