After a brief reversal for the Andre Fabre stable 24 hours earlier with Triple Threat (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}) in the G3 Prix de Guiche, it was a case of business as usual, as Baltic Baroness registered an 11th renewal of this G1 Prix de Diane trial. Following a debut win over a mile at Chantilly in November, the homebred was fourth over that trip behind subsequent G3 Prix de la Grotte winner Kenhope (Fr) (Kendargent {Fr}) in a conditions event at this track Mar. 31. Attempting to make virtually all when runner-up in the G3 Prix Penelope over this course and distance last time Apr. 16, the bay enjoyed a lead this time from Piana (Fr) (Doyen {Ire}) until the quarter pole. Kicking decisively there, she was given some hefty smacks, but responded by sticking her head out as the late-running Santa Ponsa ran out of real estate.
