Third when last seen in the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac over this trip at Longchamp in October, Alterite made light work of this early trial for the May 12 G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches. Settled last of all by a typically confident Christophe Soumillon, the bay was delivered wide in the stretch and quickly established her dominion passing the 300-meter marker. Pushed out from there, she had a comfortable margin to spare over Beatrice as she added a second success to her tally at this level after her prior exploits in the Listed Criterium de l’Ouest at Craon in September. "She had been doing well throughout the winter and was ready to go, but I hadn’t pressed her in the mornings and so that was a nice introduction," trainer Jean-Claude Rouget commented. "She won very well and the plan is to keep her fresh and head straight for the Pouliches." Click for the Racing Post result. Click for Equidia VIDEO.
