Overreach put on a serious front-running display and earned a spot on the top line of ante-post wagering for the G1 Golden Slipper S. in April. The homebred filly took plenty of action for her lone start to date in the Listed Inglis Debut S. Oct. 17 and finished 1 1/4 lengths back in second, while finishing one spot ahead of recent G3 Blue Diamond Prelude S. winner Kuroshio (Aus) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}). Sent off at odds-on here, Overreach won the break and traveled kindly on the turn. She was given her cue by Tommy Berry leaving the quarter pole and sprinted away to an impressive victory. "That is a Slipper horse," winning trainer Gai Waterhouse told AAP. "She is really good, and she was absolutely outstanding in the way she toyed with her rivals and this is a very good field. It is exciting days." The winner could make her next appearance in the G2 Silver Slipper S. Mar. 2. Click for a video replay.
