Touch Magic was a winner on debut against $40,000 claimers at Calder in August, took an allowance in the slop there Sept. 13 and was runner-up in the Cassidy S. Sept. 29. Most recently, she was a game second in her final start for trainer Antonio Sano in the GIII Delta Princess S. Nov. 17. Making her first start for these connections off the private purchase from Monsan Racing Partnership LLC, Touch Magic tracked in fourth down the backstretch. She found a gap between rivals at the top of the stretch, moved through to duel with Gal About Town and took a narrow advantage in the shadow of the wire. "She did everything right," said winning jockey James Graham. "When I worked her over this track a couple of weeks back she went really well and finished really strong. She did again today. Perfect trip. Finished off and galloped out good." Click for the chart or video replay.
