Tuttipaesi, a two-time stakes winner in Italy last summer, was last seen finishing a well-beaten seventh for trainer Marco Botti in the G2 Barrett Steel May Hill S. at Doncaster in September. Transferred to Graham Motion and adding Lasix for her U.S. debut, she raced in 10th through fractions of :24.48 and :48.47. With Alan Garcia aboard, Tuttipaesi still had plenty to do at the top of the stretch, but came alive down the lane to post an impressive victory. "She came over to run in the [GI] Alcibiades at Keeneland [Oct. 5]," Motion commented. "But she got sick in quarantine and didn’t get to run. She came with the reputation of being a bit flighty, but was well-behaved today. We didn’t really do anything with her until we got her down here to Palm Meadows. I’ve been impressed with the way she’s trained, so I wasn’t surprised she ran well today."
