Notacatbutallama has established himself as a productive turfer in New York this juvenile campaign, climbing from the maiden ranks to multiple stakes winner in the space of four months. After breaking his maiden by 6 1/2-lengths in his second start against state breds at Saratoga Aug. 20, the blaze-faced bay finished fourth, beaten by Balance the Books (Lemon Drop Kid) and subsequent GI Dixiana Breeders' Futurity S. winner Joha (Johar), in the GII With Anticipation S. Aug. 30. Second in the GIII Pilgrim S. at Belmont Oct. 8, he earned his first black-type victory in the Incurable Optimist S. last out at Belmont Oct. 28. Settling behind the leaders on the rail early, the 2-5 favorite sound a seam between runners at the top of the stretch and burst through, sweeping to the lead to win going away.
