Nipissing is yet to find any competition in her four career starts after coming home an easy winner at 1-9 odds here. The homebred earned her diploma first out by three lengths Aug. 24 before annexing an open first-level allowance by 2 1/4 lengths Sept. 28. She handled the stretch-out to take the well-funded Princess Elizabeth S. over this track and trip last time Oct. 28. Guided into the clear by Steven Bahen approaching the first turn, the bay traveled sweetly as she bided her time in third behind moderate fractions. Nipissing inched closer from the three path on the home turn and blew her foes away at the head of the lane to win like a 1-9 shot should. "She loves to run," said Bahen. "She wants to run all day long. I really was impressed when she worked the first time by herself, and she went in a minute, and it was just so easily done." Trainer Rachel Halden echoed Bahen's sentiments, adding, "She's always done everything I've asked her to do. She's been a great filly to be around from day one. Very straightforward, uncomplicated and she's just a pleasure." Halden said she is looking forward to more ground for her stable star in 2013, with an eye towards the Woodbine Oaks and Queen's Plate. "From day one, the way she trains and in her works, she's always galloping out strong, always looking for more ground," she said. ""In the race in the afternoon, she's always galloping out strong so that mile and a quarter might be okay." Click for the chart or Video, sponsored by Taylor Made Sales.
