HIGHTAIL (c, 2, Mineshaft–Stormy Renee, by Storm Cat) traveled well in the pocket as rivals ran three abreast vying for the lead. He cut the corner, hustled up along the rail and took the lead from Merit Man (With Distinction). Although that rival fought back, the 15-1 longshot remained a nose ahead to finish in 1:09.75 and give trainer D. Wayne Lukas his 19th Breeders' Cup win. Lifetime Record: 9-1-1-2.
