TDN MAGAZINE, The International Difference: Part III of A Painful Truth: "Welfare in Europe means to train the horse without any chemicals and make him race if he can face the challenge,” says France Galop's Dr. Roland Devolz. “In your country, welfare means to be allowed to use as many drugs as possible to ensure the horse will support training and race." Whose version is right? Part 3 of A Painful Truth examines North America's singular stance on medication. Download part three by clicking here.

No match for Viztoria (Ire) (Oratorio {Ire}) when third on debut over this trip at Naas July 11, Magical Dream beat the subsequently group-placed Diamond Sky (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}) and "TDN Rising Star" Big Break (GB) (Dansili {GB}) next time at Galway July 31 before disappointing when last of six in the G2 Debutante S. over this track and trip Aug. 12. Given a short break, the bay returned to be fourth in the Sept. 9 G1 Moyglare Stud S. and secured a first black-type win in these testing conditions. Racing in second early, the daughter of Red Evie (Ire) (Intikhab) was in front passing the quarter pole and kept grinding to hold Rawaaq comfortably at bay. "Seamus [Heffernan] thought she would improve a lot for her run in the Moyglare and she was very uncomplicated today," jockey Joseph O'Brien said. "She won nicely and is entitled to take her place in a better race."
