Dry Summer encountered some traffic on his way to a fourth when unveiled in a main-track sprint at Betfair Hollywood July 1, but earned his diploma next out with a rallying effort in a Polytrack sprint at Del Mar July 28. Stretching out and making the infield shift here, the chestnut was content to settle in fifth as Power Broker and Buckleberry Grey butted heads up front. Jockey Joe Talamo sent him three wide turning for home and Dry Summer responded nicely, hitting the front in deep stretch for his first black-type victory.
