1st-APX, $44,000, Alw, Opt. Clm. ($40,000), NW2$X, 3yo/up, f/m, 6f (AWT), 1:11, ft.
SACRISTY (f, 3, Pulpit--Christies Treasure {SP}, by Belong To Me) proved easily best in this very salty allowance, which featured no fewer than four black-type winners and a pair of graded winners. One of those was Sacristy, victorious in the GIII Old Hat S. at Gulfstream this past winter followed by a distant third to Broadway's Alibi (Vindication) in the GII Forward Gal S. Second as the favorite in the GII Beaumont S. at Keeneland Apr. 15, she was less effective at a route of ground, finishing seventh in the GI Kentucky Oaks May 4 and last of six in the GI Acorn S. May 28. Sent off the 2-1 chalk to get back to winning ways here, the dark bay was reserved towards the rear of the pack early on and had just a few behind at the quarter pole. Switched out soon after, she took a few strides to swap her leads, but closed with a rush through the final furlong to take it in hand by a length. Pacesetting St. Louis City (City Place) held for second. Sales history: $125,000 yrl '10 FTSAUG. Lifetime Record: GSW, 9-3-3-1, $197,112.
